Stay at Harrison Hot Springs Resort

It is a MUST to stay at Harrison Hot Springs Resort and worth every penny paid. Why? Because it is Harrison Hot Springs Resort that has the five different hot spring pools to use when you stay there. They have an outdoor adults only pool, a pool for adults and children, an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor circular hot pool, and an indoor small swimming pool for adults and children.

Get your girlfriends together for a weekend getaway and stay a couple of nights at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort. We stayed in the West Tower which is air conditioned and we had a pool view of the hot springs. The windows are surprising sound proof so you don't hear much from the hot springs even though it is busy there all day and night. The outdoor pools close at 11pm so then it is pretty quiet.

I recommend two nights because check in time is 4pm and check out time is 11am so your time in the hot springs is limited.

There is free afternoon tea in the lounge every afternoon starting at 4pm and they serve hot tea with an assortment of cookies, bars, or snacks.

Bring Your Own Champagne, Cocktails and Wine

The Harrison Hot Springs Resort West Tower Room that we stayed in had an empty bar fridge which was perfect for the bottles of champagne (sounds fanicier than sparkling wine), wine, and cocktails. There are ice machines and an ice bucket in the rooms, but you want to make sure that you also bring your own water. If you forget, just walk down to the Harrison Market to buy a 1 liter bottle of Dasani water for $3.50 as opposed to the 350ml of bottled water in the room that has the heavier price tag on it. We were prepared for different drinks by bringing disposable wine glasses and plastic glasses. Yes, a girls weekend is not complete without the wine!

I have to admit that we went a little bit overboard with our fully stocked bar fridge.

Enjoy Eating Out

Even though Harrison Hot Springs, BC is a small vacation town with the hot springs and Harrison Lake being the main attractions, it surprisingly boasts a few good restaurants.

The first night we arrived late and it was raining so we decided to eat at Harrison Lake Resort. The Copper Room at the Harrison Lake Resort had a dress code which meant it was more for romantic couples and not chatty girlfriends who only brought sandals and running shoes. Instead we decided to eat at the Lakeside Cafe which was a medium priced restaurant with good value. When you order your main entree at the Lakeside Cafe for dinner it includes an all you can eat salad buffet and dessert buffet. The main course will run around $25 to $30 so that was reasonable for a three course meal with unlimited salad and desserts. It was a nice simple assortment for the price range. It's a comfortable and spacious restaurant that is kid friendly.

The second night we used Open Table reservation system so we could get the points and made reservations for The Black Forest Bavarian Restaurant on the main road (Esplanade) beside Harrison Lake. This is a German Bavarian style restaurant that is famous for schnitzel and sausages. The decor is in the style that you would imagine in old German style cottage and the portion sizes were generous. The average cost of a main dish is around $30-35 dollars. I had an Oscar Schnitzel which came with cabbage and vegetables and I could not finish it all.

With both meals, we had our drinks of sparkling wine and cocktails before we went for dinner. Now that's a way to save money and also The Black Forest Restaurant has dinner specials if you dine before 6pm. It is good to make reservations because the night we went they said they had 125 reservations that night since there were at least 3 weddings in town and conferences.

Explore Harrison Hot Springs

In the morning walking along Esplanade St in Harrison Hot Springs, we stumbled upon a Collector Car Show. The car show had been planned but we didn't know at all. It was nice to walk to a cafe and stop along to look at the classic collector cars.

On an afternoon walk we walked along a path that started to go around Harrison Lake that is close to the hotel. We thought it would go around the lake but instead it stopped at the Hot Springs Source where it talked about the history of the hot springs and how the mineral waters travel from the source to the hot springs at the Harrison Lake Resort and the public springs.

Walking back there was a gated garden that was a part of the hotel, we used our hotel card to swipe and we entered into the peaceful resort gardens with flowing ponds with fish, and statues. From the gardens we could walk back to the hotel hot springs and there was the outdoor space that was set up for a small wedding with guests seated. On our way to the door was the bride and bridesmaids getting ready to walk down the aisle.

Spoil Yourself at the Healing Springs Spa

Harrison Lake Resort has the Healing Springs Spa and my girlfriend booked herself a nice relaxing mineral pool bath, facial with back massage, and pedicure. I wish I had fully treated myself with a spa appointment. They do have monthly specials so don't forget to ask. Remember that if you decide to spoil yourself, to book your appointment early. I tried to book the special day of but they only had one evening appointment left.

Even though I didn't go to the Healing Springs Spa, my girlfriend made a video that I'm sharing with all of you and next time for the girls getaway weekend, I will follow her lead.

Girls getaway weekends are for spending time for yourself so go ahead and spoil yourself!
